Kaylynn and other Ellis researchers We have a similar or almost parallel Ellis line. At this point I don't know if it is because of a blood relation, or coincidence that they followed the same basic migration pattern. Our line starts with: Thomas C. Ellis born 1812 in Delaware Co., NY and died Bef 1860 in Ogle Co., ILL. He married Phebe Stewart 1834 in NY. Children of Thomas and Phebe are: 1. Prior to 1860, Thomas died. Phebe and the majority of the children moved to Moulton or Centerville, Appanoose co., IA. Hammond served with Co I, 3rd Reg Iowa Cavalry Vol until he was released from service due to injuries. He met and married Rachel Ann Evans, dau of Rev Jesse Evans in Centerville, IA Mar 1861. In 1869, Phebe with the few children still living at home, Hammond and family, and Joseph took up homesteads in York Co., Nebraska. Children of Hammond and Rachel Ann (Evans) Ellis are: 1.
