While I've been puttering about for a long while, I've never gotten into the nitty gritty nuts'n'bolts of actually tracking it all down. Two reasons: lack of cash and inability to travel. This list provided me with the means of doing a lot of research on the computer. Now for my own request. There was (is?) an Ellis site put up by a lady named Pennington. The site was on AOL and had (it's reported) a LOTTA stuph on the Ellis family name. Wellll, unfortunately, it is listed just *everywhere* but does NOT come up. I get 404 Not Found. My letters to Ms Pennington were bounced as undeliverable. And that site seems (If I hear correctly) to be the ne plus ultra of Ellis sites. *sigh* Anyone remember it and if it has a new URL? Also, I have a call in to ransom Ellis. thanks to researching the archives of this mailgroup, I found out about the book he wrote about Ezekiel Ellis, my great great uncle or grandfather. I'll find out which soon. Woo ho! Thank you ALL for this mailgroup! wish me luck. Sylvia Stevens "Indeed? Then I am the softer option, am I?
