Family story says my husband's father's FORD family from NY state, was connected to an ELLIS family. I found one reference to a Charles FORD who married an ELLIS from Washington Co., NY. Family story also says a member of this same ELLIS family was a rider for the Pony Express. After much searching, I found the site for the list of Pony Express riders: http://users.ccnet.com/~xptom/names.html At the top of one column is listed: J. K. ELLIS (Eureka!)
