I am seeking the ancestry of Joseph and Mary Ellis who lived in Franklin Co., Va. from approximately 1770-1796 after which they migrated to Kentucky. Their son Stephen L. Ellis married in Franklin Co., Va. to Rebecca Lewis on 9 April 1795. Also son Joseph Ellis married Frances Woodson there on 1 July 1790. John Ellis, a probable brother to Stephen and Joseph, married Mildred Lee in Franklin Co., Va. on 6 April 1795. Their sister Elizabeth Ellis married James Harrel in Franklin Co., Va. and the Harrel's are living close to Stephen and Rebecca Ellis in Shelby Co., Ky in the 1810 census.
