    1. [ELLIS-L] Emma Ellis Philadelphia PA 1892

    3. Emma Ellis 2021 Ridge Ave. Philadelphia PA. Jan 1892 I have an original letter from an Emma Ellis to Estelle Lindsay dated 1/15/1892. These gals are cousins. Emma is in Washington DC visiting her ailing parents and is feeding genealogy info to Estelle provided by Emma's mother. These gals have a common GF, William B. (Boots?) Dyer, b.10/8/1771 at Dulaney Manor in Kent Co., d. 1/20/1830, the 7th son of Peter and Hanna Dyer of Kent Co. MD. Peter & Hanna had 9 sons and 2 daughters. The details that Emma is giving Estelle concerns this family. The data is incomplete, fragmented and/or garbled, the 1st son was Edward, Mary Ann Leaf's father. Other relationships given are: John,: Thomas married Ida's Aunt Dickerson, Davis was 2nd husband: Mary Ann married Wm. B. Wellington; Elijah & Elisha twins: Ann married John Duncan. Wm. B. Dyer's wife was Anna March b. 1782, married Dec.31,1801 in Baltimore MD by parson Richards, d. 4/20/1845, they had 5 dau's & 4 sons. One of the dau's, Willie Anna Dyer b.1812, d.1881 & Alfred Lindsay are Estelle's parents. They were married in Baltimore Dec. 3, 1840. I think Emma's mother is one of Willie's sisters. I think that Emma is the married dau. of one of these sisters, that is living in DC. Willie's sisters are: Emoline b.1802, Julia Ann b.1804 (m. James Barton), Susan b. 1809, and Sarah Rebecca b. 1815. Willie's brothers are: Benjamin Franklin Dyer b. Aug. 4, 1809: Elijah Dyer b. Feb. 6, 1818: Wm. Boots Dyer b. April 8, 1820: & John Wesley Dyer b. Sept. 16, 1823. Anna March is the daughter of John March Jr. & Mary Gale --?-- or Nancy --?--, John Jr. had 2 wives, children by which wife is garbled, of Kent Co. MD? John Jr. is the son of Dr. John March & Sarah Elizabeth Briscoe. There is more but it is too far afield for the context of this inquiry. I would like to hear from anyone that can connect to any part or this scenario. Would like to know if anyone can tell me when the original Kent Co. MD, which included all of the MD Eastern Shore was partitoned into separate counties. This would help in trying to locate Peter and Hanna Dyer & the Dulaney Plantation. If there is a current list member in Philadelphia can they tell me what currently occupies the site at 2021 Ridge Ave. From a city map this address looks like it is essentially in the downtown area. Also, are there city records available to attempt an ID of Emma, and if so are they accessible on line, if available but not on line, what procedure is necessary to make an attempt to ID Emma? Alfred & Willie are my 2nd G GP's. Mel Lindsay Atlanta
