Hello, I know there are a lot of Williams out there. Here's mine: William Ellis b. abt 1797 Rowan Co. N.C. Married Elizabeth Allin abt 1828 in Caroll Co. Tenn. They had 9 children & ended up in Shelby Co. Tenn in the 1850 census. In 1860 they show up in Poinsett (later Cross) Co. Arkansas where they stayed. Their first child, John Alexander Ellis, was my great great grandfather. He died in the civil war. In spite of what you may read in other family genealogies, he was not John Cumberland Ellis who ended up in Indiana. I am searching for information on the parents of William Ellis. I have a lot of information on the Ellis' of Rowan Co. N.C. but can not connect anything. Can anyone there help me out. I have lots to share. Dallas Harold Ellis
