Does anyone know what area in or near the northwest part of Alabama might have been referred to as "Indian Territory" around 1900? My only clue as to where my great-grandfather Jeremiah Ellis died is a letter which says he died in "indian territory." He was living in Fayette Co. some years earlier. Thanks for any suggestions.
