I am looking for information on Thomas ELLIS - b. abt 1784 in either Virginia or South Carolina. He is believed to be a half-breed Cherokee. He married Judah (or Judith) Wright (believed to be a half-breed Creek) abt 1812 or early 1813. They were in Spencer Co., Indiana in Nov 1813 and lived in Indiana until at least 1822. In 1840 they appear on the Adams Co., ILL census. In 1850 they are on the Brown Co., ILL census. Thomas & Judah had at least four daughters - two of whom are unknown. One was b. between 1830/35 and the other between 1835/40. The other two are Judith (Judah) A. ELLIS b. 23 Nov 1813 in Spencer Co., IND and Jane ELLIS b. 1823 in IND. Judith ELLIS md. James H. FINCH in 1835 in Morgan Co., ILL. Jane ELLIS md. Anson Henry BLISS in 1840 in Adams Co., ILL. On the 1850 census there are two girls living with Thomas and Judah who are apparently their grandchildren. They are not the children of either Judith or Jane. Their names are Amanda ELLIS, age 5, b. ILL; and either Sarahan or Larahan ELLIS, age 3, b. ILL. I have all the info on Judith and Jane and their descendants & will be happy to share.
