I am new to the list and would like to register my interests. John ELLIS, born 1817 Elstead, married Sarah TURPIN in 1842 at the Parish Church. They emigrated to Victoria, Australia aboard " British Empire " on its maiden voyage, arriving 15 Jan 1855. Five children ( Robert, Thomas, Frederick, Wilhemina, Rosetta ) accompanied their parents. Another child, Josiah, arrived with his uncle, Josiah TURPIN, aboard " James Baines " in Feb 1855. The ELLIS family settled in the Mt.Duneed- Geelong area.
