Hi, I am researching this Ellis branch for a dear friend of 86 years. I am looking for the parents and or siblings of Oliver Ellis born abt. 1810 maybe in Orange County, New York. Before or in 1837 he married Elenora Standard and they lived in St. Mary's, Mercer Co, Ohio. In 1857 he moved to Celina and ran a Hotel for 16 years. He was appointed postmaster there. He died 26 of Dec. 1884. Oliver and Elenora had 9 children: Lyman, Roseltha, Susan Riley b. 18 Dec. 1838, John P., James O., P.A., Amelia, Catherine E., and Mahala. Susan became a Mack and Mahala became a Nungester. Both Oliver and Elenora were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Does anyone recognize Oliver or Elenora? I think my information comes from a County or Township history but I do not know for sure as the information has been transcribed and there are a few typing errors.
