I have 2 ELLIS family branches, one from Banff Scotland, going back to Andrew ELLIS who married Sophia BANNERMAN in 1807 in Banff. His children were Andrew 1807, Jmes 1809, William Taylor 1811, Sophia 1812, Duff 1817, Bartlett 1819, Alexander Wright 1819, John Smith 1821. Duff emigrted to New Zealand along with some of his grown up children. The other ELLIS branch were from Ayr in Scotland and later Bedford in England. They go back to William ELLIS (I believe born in Scotland) who married Elizabeth TRAPP in Bedford, thier children were Ellis 1836, Ellen Gertrude 1834, Benjamin Trapp 1838, all born in Ayr Scotland. Elizabeth was in Bedford in 1859 when she married Tom Pickering ISLIP. Regards Anita in London UK
