Thomas ELLIS (b. 12/24/1567 Helton, England) m. Margaret BROOKE (b. Cotton, England) Their son: John ELLIS (b. 1583 Skipton, Yorkshire, England, d. 5/1677 Medfield, Norfolk Co., MA Colony m. Ann BENJAMIN (b. 1589 England) and Anne BABCOCK (b. 1592, Skipton, Yorkshire, England) -- don't know which was the first. His marriage with Ann BENJAMIN was believed to have produced their daughter: Ann [also found as Anne and Anna] Elice ELLIS (b. 7/1/1612 Rishangles, Suffolk, England, d. 12/4/1678 Mystic, Groton, New London, CT Colony) m. Edward Allyn CULVER [also found as COLLVER and COLVER (b. 1610 England, d. 1687 Groton, New London, CT Colony)] on 9/19/1638 in Dedham, Norfolk Co., MA Colony. Edward came to the MA Bay Colony with the newly appointed governor Winthrop. Edward was a millwright, wheelwright, and a part-time farmer. Edward helped found Dedham, Norfolk, MA Colony and fought in a number of military exercises -- he developed quite a good relationship with a number of the local Native Americans and the Dutch in the area. He was deeded land for his service to the crown. Ann and Edward were buried in the Wightman Burying Ground, Groton, New London, CT Colony. [It is unclear -- at least to me -- which of Ann's siblings (Richard b. 1622, Joseph b. 1625, and Francis b. 1627) were born to which of John's two wives] Charline Gail KITCHEN Ahlgreen Ellis/MA Bay Colony descendent
