Henry Edgar ELLIS, born 20 Mar 1866 in South Carolina, died 16 Nov 1935 in Grandview, Johnson Co., Texas. Wesley married (2) Mariah SKINNER 3 Apr 1873 in Hickory Plains, Prairie Co., Arkansas. She was born about 1840 in South Carolina. Known child of Wesley A. ELLIS and Mariah SKINNER is: 6. f v. Sallie ELLIS, born about 1874 in Hickory Plains, Prairie Co., Arkansas. Name taken from 1880 Prairie Co., Arkansas, census. 1850 Federal Census for Chesterfield District, SC, page 115, family #262, shows Wesley, age 18, living with his mother(?) and step-father, John M. and Effa Turnage. Effa is suspected to be Elvira Wallace. 1870 Arkansas census found a Wesly ELLIS, age 34, (documented on roll M-593, #61, page 450 as family #29) living in Hickory Plains township of Prairie County. His sons; James, age 11; William, age 9; John, age 7; and Henry, age 4; along with a housekeeper, Mariah Skinner, age 30, were living in the household.
