Hi, My line is a William Nelson Ellis born about 1845 in NY maybe I'm not sure. He came to Iowa and married his first wife Mary or Nancy Jane Carpenter on 1-3-1865. He served in the Civil War. He and his first wife are buried in Page Co. Iowa. His first wife died in 1871. In 1872 he married his second wife Sarah Jane Means. She was reportedly born in Indiana in1851. They were also married in Page Co. Iowa. They had at least 6 children. Hallie Dewitt born 1879 {my grandfather}, Nellie married a Duncan and then a Bryant. She was born in 1881. Rachel born 1888, she married a Bill Hines. Wilma born in 1893 married a Blissing and then a Paxton. Nora no birth year, married a Williams. And Edna no birth year, married a Stevens.
