I have read the posts on James Ellis and Sarah Riggs Ellis, and would like to add that I am descended through the Ellis line--even though my husband's name is Riggs. I have taken a look at the COUSINS BY THE DOZENS book at our library, and was very disappointed to discover that it contains numerous errors on my line of this family. I am sure that the person who put the book together put the errors in unknowingly, but you must check out the information yourself to be sure the facts are correct. I descend through James Ellis, his son James Ellis, Jr., to James Carroll Ellis whose daughter Mary Francis Ellis was my grandmother. James Ellis, Jr., migrated along with others of the family to Lincoln County, Tennessee, and then some of the family went to Illinois, I believe. I have a little information on Sarah Riggs' family, and think that she came from New Jersey originally. Am not sure of this line. I will try to send what I have on this family to anyone that is interested. Joyce Park Riggs
