Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm researching my son's father's family. According to the 1884 Michigan state census, Hiram Ellis came to Sparta, Michigan after the Civil War from Canada (his wife, Louisa Van Ness, was from Wolfe Island). It also states that his father (no name, unfortunately) was from Rhode Island & his mother, Anna, was born in Conneticut. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks in advance. Roxanne
