We "forgive" you for sending your warning to the list----we all make mistakes and we all do things not every one approves of. (I think it's called "human"!) Besides, you are new to this list so no harm done if you happened to get off the genealogy subject---esp. when the list is "slow"! Your names are interesting but only because my mother-in-law is named "Maxine Ellis" and my husband's aunt (by marriage) is named "Virginia Ellis". My husband is a direct descendant of the Edward Ellis line (Surry/Sussex, VA) that Dixie McCrary wrote her book about. He descends through Hardy Ellis (NC>TN>KY). I'm interested in hearing from anyone working on the Ellis line in Middle Tennessee---especially in and around Montgomery County. Does anyone know what happened to Miles (Hardy's brother)?
