    2. My Benjamin ELLIS: Benjamin C. ELLIS, b. 22 Feb 1810 in NC (where, I don't know yet), d. 30 Apr 1866, LA. m. Charity FIELDS, b. abt 1812 "in TN" (where, I don't know) These are my brick walls; can't find them except in a cemetery with only dates (hers only says "died age 87", but I found a land dispute record which said she wasn't in court because she was X years old last January, and going by the date of the document, I was able to figure out she was b. 1812). I only got their names and state of origin from their son Joseph Graves ELLIS's death certificate. Francesca Sutton

    3. >Why don't everyone post their Benjamins to the list. Please include >marriages, dates, places and resources. Great idea! I'va lso had quite a few conversations trying to sort out Benjamin's. My Benjamin: Benjamin M. Ellis - b. July, 1828 either MO, or TN; m. Dec. 16, 1852 to Rebecca Senna Hall, Aurora, MO; d. after 1900. They also had son named Benjamin - Benjamin P (Payton?) Ellis - b. Sept. 14, 1861, McDonald Co, MO; m. Martha Beth Smith, 1883, MO; d. June 28, 1942, Joplin, MO. My line from Benjamin M. comes through their son Alfred - gr grandfather - Alfred Faris Ellis, b. May 4, 1868, McDonald Co, MO; m. Etta Evelyne Stevens, Sept. 15, 1887, Aurora, MO; d. Sept. 1, 1943, McDonald Co, MO, buried in Roller Cemetary. grandfather - William Carl Ellis, b. March 25, 1911, McDonald Co, MO; m. Ethel Louise Anderson, May 25, 1934, McDonald Co, MO; d. Feb 7, 1984, Marion, KS, buried in a private plot in Florence, KS. The information comes partially from census listings of 1850; 1860; 1870; and 1900; birth certificates, death certificates; and verified family sources. Part of the census information was provided to me by Ken Busbee who is a descendant through both Benjamin M, and Benjamin P. Ellis. Benjamin M's father is Isaac. Any additional info on him would be greatly appreciated. Cindy Ellis mailto:[email protected]

    3. Hello Everyone! I am seeking more information on my grandfather's marriages. He was William Roy Ellis, born 18 July 1893 in Sedalia, Pettis, Missouri. His father was William Silas Ellis, b. 7 Oct 1859 in Hopewell, Pettis, Missouri. William Silas Ellis always went by Silas or Si. William Roy (who always went by Roy) first married Effie Greer b. 29 Dec 1888 in Sedalia, Pettis, Missouri. They were married 22 Dec 1911. To them was born one daughter, Lillian Lucille Ellis b. 25 Nov 1913 in Kansas City, Missouri. Roy married second to Alma Cordia Israel sometime before 1921. I haven't located their marriage as yet. They had one daughter, my mother, Evelyn June Ellis b. 11 June 1921 in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri. Alma (who went by Cordie) died at age 34 on 30 Nov 1927. Cordie, or Cordey, had a son from a previous marriage, Lloyd. I am not sure of Lloyd's surname. I am told that for a number of years W. Roy Ellis lived with a woman named Arthea but it is unknown if they married. At the time of Roy's death in Kansas City, his obituary lists his wife as Vinnie or Vennie? I am seeking more information on Vinnie and her children from a previous marriage to a Mr. Truelove. I believe she had three children with Mr. Truelove previous to her marriage to my grandfather. Any more information on this family would be greatly appreciated. If anyone is interested I have quite a bit on Roy's siblings. Thanks, Peggy Nutt Adrian, Michigan (previously of Kansas City, MO)

    3. Thought some of you might be interested in this item on Hiram D. Ellis that I recently found in a brochure advertising the H. D. Ellis Inn, a Victorian Bed & Breakfast in Blissfield, Lenawee county, Michigan. The brochure reads: "Hiram D. Ellis arrived in Blissfield from New York in 1842. He was of Scottish-Irish descent and operated a harness and hardware store for a number of years and at one time was involved in a partnership with Frederick G. Beagle. He built a fine brick home in 1883 as can be attested to by the Northwest cornerstone." Mr. Ellis' home is located at 415 W. Adrian Street., Blissfield, Michigan. 1. [ELLIS-L] Christopher ELLIS
    2. Dear ELLIS researchers: My earliest ELLIS ancestor is Christopher ELLIS, who was born in RI in late Feb 1783, according to federal census records. He came as a very young man to Milford, Otsego County, New York, where he married Wealthy PERRY, born 1785. He lived the rest of his life in Milford, with the exception of his last few years when he lived with his married daughter, Caroline Ellis Doolittle, in Middlefield. Christopher and Wealthy had nine children: Martha (the first child, born 1801), Silas and Susannah, who died as young children; Ferdinand, Jonas, Russell, Charles G., Caroline, and Clark, who lived to adulthood. Christopher was a well-to-do farmer. He died 7 Apr 1855, and Wealthy died 24 Dec 1837. I have so far been unable to locate Christopher's birthplace in RI or his parents or Wealthy's birthplace or parents. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jayne [email protected]

Another daughter of William Ellis and Anges Brooks Carr was Phoebe Ellis, who married Reuben McDannold (good documentation). They moved to Calumet Twp, Pike Co, Missouri in Oct, 1835 with other families --the Juetts, Jeans, Fords, Treadways, and other related families who came to Pike County from Montgomery County, Kentucky, in a large migration in 1835["Pike County, Missouri People Places & Pikers" Compiled & Edited by Karen Schwadron 1981]. Another daughter of William Ellis and Agnes Brooks Carr was Elizabeth Ellis, who married John Coons in 1794 in Montgomery Co, Kty. Their son, John Coons Jr. married Elizabeth Wells in Montgomery Co, Kty in 1830, and moved to Ralls Co, Missouri just north of Pike Co. Please let me know if anything develops for you with this information. -- Ron Grabyan [email protected] Stan Cornelius wrote: > > Hi > > John Pit m. Patsey True 23 Nov 1834 in Pike co MO.
