I would like to get in touch with descendants of William L. Ellis b. 22 Jan. 1886 in Blount Co. Al. He was a Methodist Minister and moved to Texas. He was married to Frances Brown. He was the son of Nathaniel Taylor Self Ellis and Mary Elizabeth Daily. His brother DeForest Alexander Ellis was my Granfather. He and William were quite close, but after William moved to Texas and DeForest moved to Louisiana, they lost touch with each other. I have some family information to share. Janet
Tom Ellis born 1812 NC married Sarah "Sally" Martin 1836 Surry Co., NC. I would like to know siblings and parents for Tom. Are: Major Winston, James, William, John, and Pleasant - Tom's siblings? They are all in Surry County 1850; along with James & Lucretia Ellis, who are old enough and live close enough to this bunch to be the parents. Give your Ellis research one more look through and see if you can come up with a new direction for me.
I'm trying to find any descendants of Ed Ellis, who was born in the 1880's in Texas to Sam and Ella Brooks Ellis. He had 4 brothers: Oscar, Hubbard, Lytle, & Lee; 1 sister: Lena; and 2 half-sisters: Lula & Flora. The only other thing I know about him is that he lived in Clifton, Arizona. If anyone has any information, I would appreciate it. Thanks. Duston Brooks
Looking for the descendants of Lytle Ellis, who was born in 1884 in Texas to Sam and Ella Brooks Ellis. He was married to Pearl Golightly at Matador, Texas in 1909 and they lived in Hereford, TX for several years. They had three children: Lena Ellis Hamm, Thelma Ellis Hamm, and Orville Ellis. From Lytle's funeral record from 1950, Lena was living in Redland, California, Thelma was living in El or Del Monte, California, and Orville was living in Masterson, Texas near Amarillo. From Pearl's funeral home record from 1970, Lena was living in El or Del Monte, California and Thelma was living in La Puente, California. Orville had passed away by then. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it very much. Thanks. Duston Brooks
Looking for relatives of Ella Grace Hodges, b. 10-12-1874 in Arkansas, d. 6-23-1938 in Oklahoma, m. William Oscar Hodges on 8-16-1891 in Indian Territory. Her parents listed on her death certificate were Walter and Barbara Lynn Ellis. (Census records states they were born in Mississippi.) I think she may have had a sister named Etta. Terry Cahill
Thanks, Nancy Orange, MA is in the northern middle part of the state, and my Nathan Ellis family moved from their to Brattleboro, VT, which is just north of Orange. The reason I thought their origin was in the Mendon area is the intermarriages with some families in that area: the Thayers, Cheneys and Whitneys. I'm hoping to get a little more information from a family member soon that might clarify. Thanks! Mary Ann Ellis m. Steven Deans abt. 1870, probably in Wilson Co, NC. Their daughter was Cornelia Frances Deans, my g grandmother. Is this the same Mary Ellis, b. abt. 1851, that is a daughter of William Ellis and Mary of NC, maybe Nash Co? She might have been known as "Molly". Hi all! I live in Australia, and although most list members seem to be researching in the US, I thought I'd enquire whether there are any others looking in OZ? I'm searching in NSW, around the Hill End area for miners from the UK. Cheers Bronwyn ---------------------- Bronwyn King ACT Australia -----------------------

Yes, though not very actively. I have no leads on my gr-gr-grandfather Robert L. Ellis. I know from the census that he was born in SC, but don't know where or who his parents were. I stumbled across his grave one day when I just stopped at a likely looking little cemetery at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church between Millport and Kennedy, AL, but can find nobody around who knows anything about him. He married his wife in Lowndes Co., Miss. which is where I live. I'm listing his immediate family here, which was all girls. I would appreciate any leads on them. I am descended from Nancy A. Ellis. I am subscribed in digest mode, so please reply to me direct if you want a faster response. I'd be glad to share the information I have. Bobby Richardson
