I will certainly try to obtain some of this information. for others not familiar with Dixie McCrary: Although I'm sure this collection contains more than just this family, much of this collection must contain information on the Edward & Jeremiah Ellis (Dixie's line.) Dixie McCrary's "The Ellis line from Surry and Sussex counties in Virginia" is on this family. I have included a partial 5 generation outline from Edward Ellis in this email. Perhaps some of you finding your ancestors listed might want to make a trip to Knoxville or see if you can some of the other titles listed in Mary Harper's original email in a closer library. Hello, Does anyone have access to the book "Brothers and Forebearers" by Charles Roscoe Howland? There is a copy of the book in the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport, Maine, but I don't live anywhere near there. There is a reference in the book to Lt. John Ellis of Sandwich, MA that sounds interesting. I would like to hear what other people have to say about it. Mark S. Ellis R.T. Dear cousins, The latest issue of Ellis Cousins (Winter, 1999) contains an article on the possible father and grandfather of our ancestor. There are some church records in England that contain interesting information on Edward's (alleged) father, siblings, and grandfather. More research needs to be done, to establish that this is the correct Edward Ellis, however. ECN is $16/year ($21 outside US), and the address is : Ellis Cousins Newsletter 1201 Maple St. Friona, Texas 79035 If anyone just wants a copy of the article, send me a SASE, and I will send the one page.--David David B. Hello: I am a descendant of Elizabeth Ellis (born in 1683; died 1716) who married Thomas Frampton (born in 1683; died Dec. 27, 1726) before 1706. Elizabeth's parents were Thomas and Anna (Humphries) Ellis. Was interested to know if I share the same roots with anyone on the list and would love to share information.
