Hello, Friends, I am interested in finding family members of THOMAS ELLIS, born January 25, 1830 in PA. He married CATHARINE HINES in Holmes County , Ohio,on January 31, 1851 by John Sharp, JP. I feel that SAMUEL ELLIS, who married ANNA STILLS on January 31, 1851 in Holmes County , Ohio, may be a brother. Would REBECCA ELLIS, who married JOHN FRY on July 4, 1844, in Holmes County, Ohio be a sister? While we have found what happened to CATHARINE HINES ELLIS and the children, we have never found the death date or where for THOMAS ELLIS. We are anxious to locate this information and the names of parents and siblings of THOMAS. I would appreciate learning about THOMAS ELLIS, my husband's g-g-Grandfather. Rachel M. Ellis

I've always assumed that our Medway/Medfield, MA Ellises were English or Welsh. Hi everyone, I am searching for the birth record of a very colourful West Australian character, Harcout Whipple ELLIS. He was born sometime in the 1870's and ended up in Western Australia, practising dentistry (and much else besides!) He put it about that he was the illegitimate son of the then Prince of Wales, who later became King Edward 7th, and indeed he was the spitting image of him. I have been told by people who encountered him in later years that when the King died Harcourt draped his surgery in purple mourning drapes and put a sign up, "closed due to a death in the family"! His Australian marriage certificate says that he was born in 'Ohio'. No county or town is mentioned, unfortunately. Has anybody ever come across the names Harcourt or Whipple with relation to their Ellis's? Does anybody have Ellis roots in 1870's Ohio? Yours hopefully, Barbara Kearns Perth, Western Australia
