WOW! Has this list ever slowed down! I had to unsub a few months ago, because I was getting scads of ELLIS messages and couldn't handle all of them with the other lists I was subbed to. Anyway I am searching for the following Ellis folks: George Washington ELLIS b. Alabama probably mid 1800's. George Monroe ELLIS b. Alabama probably 1870-80 George Monroe had the following known children: Alene ELLIS b. April 5, 1901 d. Dec. 19, 1995 James Dewey ELLIS b. Mar. 6, 1900 d. June 14, 1930 Sudie (no further info.) I met her in Florida in 1950's Another female, but cannot recall her name. All born around Coffee or Covington County,Alabama. Any information on these folks will be very welcome. They are my in-laws and most are deceased. I call the ones that are left to question them often, but I am getting nowhere. I need to leave this info for my grands. Thank you very much. I have a microfilm of marriage records for Henry Co., Illinois for the years 1888-1918. The information from the film has been transcribed into the computer and I have the ability to do a search through the 11,000+ records. I did a search on ELLIS and came up with the following names. There is additional information on the brides and grooms (but not the parents) if anybody wants it. Please let me know the specific couple you want more info on. Hello all! I have just subscribed, and am after information on my great grandfather, WILLIAM LANGLEY-ELLIS. He was born Langley-Ellis, but shortened his name to Ellis. He was born in Yorkshire, (Bridlington) 7th Dec 1891 -1947. He married Mercy Agnes Veronica Price, and they had 9 children (3 or 4 died in infancy) He was a regimental sargent major in the 4th Dragoon Guards. He was known as "Jock", and had a "kaiser bill" moustache! He was the black sheep of his family, (of who i know nothing). Any info will be gratefully recieved! thankyou Jenny Bostock ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hi, I am a subscriber and wanted to know if it is ok for me to post info about my very first (and probably one and only) ELLIS Family Reunion? Klaryse Ellis Adams Oak Lawn, Il
Sorry, I don't have enough information to know if David is related my Thomas ELLIS or not. Wish I did. As far as I know, Thomas only had four daughters - don't know of a son. And I know nothing about his siblings. Hello, I know there are a lot of Williams out there. Here's mine: William Ellis b. abt 1797 Rowan Co. N.C. Married Elizabeth Allin abt 1828 in Caroll Co. Tenn. They had 9 children & ended up in Shelby Co. Tenn in the 1850 census. In 1860 they show up in Poinsett (later Cross) Co. Arkansas where they stayed. Their first child, John Alexander Ellis, was my great great grandfather. He died in the civil war. In spite of what you may read in other family genealogies, he was not John Cumberland Ellis who ended up in Indiana. I am searching for information on the parents of William Ellis. I have a lot of information on the Ellis' of Rowan Co. N.C. but can not connect anything. Can anyone there help me out. I have lots to share. Dallas Harold Ellis
Mr. Davis: Last we communicated April 25 and 27th, 2000, you had sent me info on Joel ELLIS. -------------------------- Here is some genealogy I have for a Joel Ellis who died in Daviess County. I don't know if it connects to your line. 1. Joel Ellis born ___ 00 1784, married Oct 22 1806, in Gallatin County, Kentucky, Polly Smith, (daughter of James Smith and Betty Sanders). Joel died ___ 00 1870, Daviess County, Kentucky. The same Joel Ellis that married Mary D. Blanton? ----------------- I have been lucky enough to find out some more info about my William ELLIS and wife Adeline FANT that were married in Gallatin Co, Ky 1835 and moved into Ohio Co by 1840. After they both die in 1854 and 1856, their younger children were divided up and sent to live with relatives. I have found a wonderful lady who found some guardian records of their children. Could this be the same Joel ELLIS??????????? Do any of these other names look familiar? ELLIS CHILDREN: Jenetta and Polly Ann are listed with Joel ELLIS as their guardian in the guardian records. Theodore's guardian is Isah CRAIG whose wife was Nancy P. ELLIS. Helen, Adaline, and Sarah E. (Sally) have as their guardian Henry BALTZELL. In the 1860 census Adaline is living with James SMITH who married Alhalia FANT. She is 8 yrs old. She married Pendleton SWAIN on 30 June 1872. Theodore is living with Isah CRAIG. He married Altha D. CHAPMAN 1 December 1869. Genetti ELLIS married Thomas N. BERRYMAN on 4/8/1863. Sarah E. ELLIS (Sally) married Shelby BAKER on 10/28/1869 and Thomas E. NALL on 11/16/1873. The administrator of the estate was Wm J. BERRY. Helen is also listed as having Aloxir C. ELLIS as guardian. The estate papers for William were dated 1854. The guardianship papers for Helen, Sarah and Shelby were dated 2 March 1861. -------------------- Please let me know if there are any connections. Yours, Klaryse
