I too am trying to find out when and how the Elliotts came to the colonies and NC. As you probably know the Elliott name originated in Scotland--probably around Angus Co, then on the Scottish Borders (as per "Scottish Clan and Family Encyclopedia" by Way and Squire). Would like to see that proved or disproved and that still leaves the question of why, when & how did they come to NC. My guesses would be the Quaker connection and the migration route would be by ship from Boston to Edenton, and when Thomas was a young man. Would be glad to share info on the family I have...Al
