    1. [ELLIOTT] Re: North Carolina/Ohio/Indiana Elliott families.

    3. I looked at the Hinshaw book for North Carolina Elliotts yesterday. The author who indicated that the Perquimans Elliotts did not migrate to the Randolph area seems to have been mistaken. I found Exum who was Jacob and Zelpha's Davenport Eliott's son attending the Back Creek Monthly Meeting in Randolph County. Exum was part of the original membership. So indeed at least one line of the Perquimans Elliotts moved on to the Randolph/Guilford County area. Back Creek was set up in 1792. Exum later moved to Indiana with his family. The New Garden Monthly Meeting of Quakers according to Hinshaw was set up in 1754 in Guilford County, NC by direction of Perquimans and Little River Quarterly Meeting because of the hardship for these people of attending monthly meeting at Cane Creek . It seems that in 1763 Jacob Ellott and wife and children, Jacob, Elizabeth, Hannah Israel, and William, were received on certifictate from Warrington MM, Pa dated 1763,9,20. In 1765 Abraham and his wife Priscilla and children Stephen, Ruth, John, Samey, Joseph, Abraham, Hester, Jemima, were recieved on certificate from Warrington MM, Pa dated 1764,7,14. Endorsed by Cane Creek MM, NC 1765,1,5 In 1782 Jacob Ellot and wife Elizabeth and children William, Abraham, Elizabeth, and Rachel were received on certificate from Center MM, NC dated 1781,7,21. In 1784 Jacob Ellot and wife Elizabeth and children William, Abraham, Elizabeth, and Rache, granted certificate to Center MM Now I am hoping that one of these Abrahams is my Catherine's father.
