While chatting with another member of this list, I realized that I had not really looked at the Indiana Census for my Abraham Elliott. In 1820 just as I expected there was not an Abraham Elliott in Ohio. He had already moved to Indiana. In 1820 there is only one Abraham Elliott. But he was not in Vigo County with his daughter and son-in-law as I had expected. This Abraham Elliott was in Wayne County, Indiana. He had quite a large household still and was himself 26-45. There does not seem to be a wife living with him. It is possible that this is my man. Wayne County involved moving practically just across the border in Indiana from where he was living before. Does anyone on the list claim this Abraham Elliott? Do you know anything about him? By 1830 there are two Abraham Elliotts in Indiana. One in Clark county who has mostly young children and is only 30-40. He is not likely to be my man. The other is in Henry County. He is likely to be the same man who was in Wayne county the census before as it is only one county to the west and the family has aged about right since 1820. This time he does seem to have a wife in the household. Next door is Stephen Elliott who is very likely to be a son as he is 20-30 and has a small family. One confusing item is that there is a female 10-15 in the household. Anyone know these people? marsha in WV
