Their daughter, AMERICA, is listed as both AMERICA JOHN and AMERICA BAGLEY, and even America Johns and America St. John in various sources. She was born about 1850, listed as Texas, but possibly Oklahoma? (Indian territory?) America married WILLIAM JOHNSON ELLIOTT in 1864, Oklahoma. America & William are my GGgrandparents. Mary Bagley and William John are listed as born in Kentucky about 1828 and 1823, respectively. I cannot find any birth or death information for either of them. All branches of the family have been told that America was a Choctaw Indian. I cannot find any birth or death records for her. I'm not certain if Mary and William were both Choctaw, or just one of them. Kentucky birthplaces would seem to indicate Cherokee? Help! I've searched through all sorts of records, but I don't know where else to look for America, Mary and William. Does anyone have info on these people??
