Was he born in Prince William Co, VA in 1740? Was he an Ensign in the VA Militia during the Rev War? I think we have a connection here. >> Nelson, No, my William didn't have a son named Burgess. I believe that is the William of Loudon Co., VA. My William only had 3 sons, Nimrod, William and Washington. He had 5 daughters, four of which are Theodocia, Charlotte, Chloe and Eleanor. Mentioned in his will were Nimrod, Washington and Eleanor. Charlotte was dead at that time, Theodocia and Chloe and married well and apparently didn't need the land. Both Eleanor and Washington were minors at the time of his death in 1802. Apparently these two William Elliotts have been mixed up for many years. Anne
