My Dad & his cousin differed on where our Elliotts came from. Dad told my sister they came from KY; Uncle Tom Rainbolt said Philadelphia. I THINK my g-g-grandfather, George's (b.1824, who married Eliza Neal in 1848) father was Joseph Elliott who married Frances Steenrod in Ohio. Supposedly Joseph came to southern Indiana from PA through OH, MI and on to IN. Several of my dad's uncles & siblings went back to Michigan in the late 30' & early 40's. From there they migrated to Wisconsin, Iowa & Callifornia. ************** My great-grandfather, Thomas Wilshire Elliott - [son of George V. Elliott]- married Elilza Caroline Lynch in the late 1800's. Of these ancestors I am sure of. AND her parents and his parents******** Names that run in our family. Wilshire was handed down as a middle name. John, Hazel, Minerva, Charles, Clarence, Horace, George, Gladys. Will be more definite upon request.
