Roland, Your message caught me attention because of the reference to PA for you James Elliott. My wife has an Elliott line. The earliest member to be identified is John Elliott b.abt.1810 PA. In the 1850 census he, his wife, Polly, and their 7 children are living in Schylkill Co., PA. A son born abt.1840 was named James. Could this family be related to your PA family?
