We are looking into our family history, so far we have the Elliott (sometimes spelt Ellit/Ellet) going back to a Porter Elliott around the Necton area of Norfolk in England. So far we cannot find where he was born, or where the family came from before Norfolk. It is possible the main stay of the family was mining and farming. Our part of the family settled in North East England, around Newcastle/Sunderland/Middlesbrough areas. Can anyone help? Thank you, Colin Elliott (now residing in Australia)
