Elliott, 85, Auburn, Ala., died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, Ala. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today at Parkway Baptist Church, Auburn, Ala., with the Rev. Dr. Perry Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Clarksville. Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home, Opelika, Ala., is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Elliott was born July 16, 1921, in Nashville. She had been a resident of Auburn for the past five years and previously of Clarksville. She was retired from Sears in Clarksville with 30 years of service. Mrs. Elliott was a member of the First Nazarene Church of Clarksville and taught in the church nursery department for 50 years. Katherine was a regular exerciser at Health Plus Fitness Center in Auburn and was a loyal Auburn fan. She will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness and sincerity. She is survived by her son, Dr. Thomas (Beth) R. Elliott, Auburn; one granddaughter, Katherine (Scott) Hope Phillips, Columbus, Ga.; one sister, Emma Mae Armstrong, Clarksville; one nephew, Howard Wade Armstrong, Riverton, Wyo.; one great niece, Vickie Armstrong, New York, N.Y., and several great nephews. The family respectfully declines the gift of flowers and suggests that memorial donations may be directed to the Alabama 4-H Club foundation at 226 Duncan Hall, Auburn University, Alabama 36849 or a favorite church or charity. The family will receive friends at Parkway Baptist Church in Auburn today from 10 to 11 a.m.
