He was b. Sep-1884, son of Horace Jenckes "Harry" Elliott and Bertha Simms Foss. The only record I've managed to find on Samuel is the 1900 US Census for the Massachusetts Reformatory in Concord, MA. His mother had two children, Samuel, and a younger brother b. early 1886 who died in infancy. She was listed (incorrectly) in 1900 Census as "1/1" for childcount and "2/1" in 1910. This could indicate Samuel was still living in 1910, but I've been unable to find him in US Census records, beyond 1900. Should anyone happen to have information on Samuel Foss Elliott, I would be most interested in sharing his origins, with someone having information on him post 1900 census. I have contacted the Massachusetts Dept. of Correction, and it would seem no records remain of his incarceration, why he was imprisoned, when, and when/whether he left their "care". He listed his POB in 1900 as MA, but did not list POB for parents, so may not have listed his own, correctly. Search of MA Vital Records shows no Samuel Elliott that would completely match known information. Again, look forward to sharing/exchanging information.
