Dora Lou I live in Lebanon, MO (Laclede County). There is a city named Clinton about an hour away from me. I know of no Clinton County, MO. Please check your information. My grandmother was the daughter of John Edward Elliott. He and his wife Mae Rose Hines were married in Clinton. When my grandmother was a little girl she lived in Clinton (actually Larue which was a little settlement near Clinton) with her grandmother Grimes after her mother Mae Rose had died. John Edward remarried, then he took his 3 little girls and moved to various places, including a little settlement called Handley in Dallas County, MO and lived in Oklahoma, New Mexico....wherever his wanderlust took him. He had several more children with his 2nd wife. Do check out your information of the name of your county or town.
