She was born on 2 July 1865 in Ontario, so hopefully they were living in Ontario when the 1881 census was taken. Also if you have access to Ontario birth records, maybe her birth was recorded in them. Also the Ontario marriage records, she married W Frederick McKenzie before 1890 because their first child was born Feb of that year in Manitoba.
