I've not been following this thread but Sangamon Cty, IL was were Simon Elliott lived i think...maybe you've pointed that out but....I guess by that time there were a LOT of Elliotts over here but I find it odd often that unrelated families with same names just go somewhere out of the blue suddenly to settle...makes me wanna go hmmmmm... I am fairly certain that the KY/TN Elliotts weren't related to the OH Elliotts..if others have different info PLEASE let me know as I have not followed a lot of the offshoots of my early Elliotts so they could have gone to KY/TN. Also I am still hunting my Andrew and William'.... Simon was brother of William of the shipwreck Elliotts...I THINK and I just am not looking it up relying on memory...that William's son Simon? wrote the Elliott book ...correct me if I am wrong... just sayin' :) good luck, I checked my database and I have no McKinney's sorry.. I've been trying to figure out the connection of the McKinney's to Elliots, Scales and Robersons' The were witnesses on John and Margaret's wills and that often suggests a connection.
