You said he came to york PA with two brothers. William and John. I have been looking for any information about My ancestor John I can find. He too came to the states with two brothers between 1770 and 1775 and settled in Lewistown Pensylvania, in Mifflin county, formerly Cumberland county. The reason your ancestors interest me, is the fact that all I know about him, is he shows up in the 1790 cesus in Mifflin county, he was about 16 when he arrived in the U.S. with his brothers, and he owned a tavern in Lewistown. I do not know his brothers names and was never able to definitively find either of them. I do know that John, named his first son William, and had close ties to the Power family. What do you know about the Elliott's in york? Do you know how old the other two brothers were, and possibly where they might have went after York PA? Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I have hit somewhat of a dead end here. All the Elliott's I'm meeting here have ancestors who either arrived too late to be closely related,or started in another state and wound up in PA to late to be closely related. I have to say, you certainly have my attention Mike. I am really looking forward to your response on this! Hi I have a suggestion that might help...if you change the subject line to more accurately reflect the conversation, more people might read it and might have some info to help you. Just an idea.
