When he left school he was presented with his birth certificate and discovered that his mother's name was Elliott. His father was Frank Leadbeater and Frank's wife was Margaret (nee Sykes). They are both buried at Gorton Cemetary along with my Grandfather, his brother Frederick and my Grandfathers son, my Uncle Alan Elliott, who died at approx. 6 months old. While I have traced Frank's history a little, I am intrigued to find out about who his mother was. I have sent off for the birth certificate too see if I can get any information there. I assume that my Grandfather was born out of wedlock and his father took him in. My Grandfathers sister as called Lily. Does anyone have any information or ideas about this?
