So, there seems to be a plethora of Stevens descendants, one or more of which may be a cousin. I would like to read a little about Kent Island overall in the period 1800 to 1850. Has there been something good written on that period specifically about Kent Island and the families there? I assume they raised tobacco and had slaves. Is that a fair assumption? Can we go back any further in time? Capt. John Elliott's father was Thomas Elliott who served K.I. in Revolutionary War as my great-G'mother got into DAR in 1920 on basis of him. Did you know that? Is there a person who is the person most steeped in history of K.I. in the 1700s-1800s whom we might consult for leads? I want to take these families back as far as I can as they seem to have been very early settlers, in 1600s. Think about it and let me know your thoughts. I have written something on Rev. Elliott that I can send to you later if you wish. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
