I just ordered the book forest and clearings a couple of days ago. The historical society of stanstead emailed me some info from it. I will paste it here for everyone. The following is taking from Forest and Clearings a history of Stanstead County by B.F. Hubbard Jonathan Magoon born Exeter N.H. married Betsey Smith. They came to Stanstead in 1796 settle on No. 1, 4th range in 1816, Removed to Magoon Point. He died in 1826, she died 1857. Their children Jonathan, Betsey,Simeon, John, Daniel, Jeremiah, David And Polly. Jonathan Magoon Jr. born in Exeter NH Apr. 16, 1786, married Prudence Abbot born Apr. 8, 1786. She died Sep. 30, 1836. He afterwards married Sally Gilman widow of John Bragg. His residence was the Point first taken up by Carlos and Abels. Children Fanny b. Feb. 8, 1806 married Hiram Lilly Willard b. May 7, 1809 married Adeline Blake Wilder b May 20, 1811 married Electa Blake Hannah b April 6, 1813 married Harrison Smith Aurelia b. Feb. 28, 1815 married Nason Peaslee Erastus b June 5, 1817 married Mary Miller Charles b Feb. 28, 1820 married Caroline Miller Riley b. Feb. 20, 1822 married Lydia Smith Levi b. July 19, 1824 married Biel Blake Asa b. Sept. 25, 1826 married Eliza Smith Hiram b. Mar. 3, 1829 married Betsey Blake Alexander Magoon married Jemima Leavitt she died in 1804. He afterwards married Hannah Hall. Children James, Dudley, Alexander, Joseph and Sally. Dudley Magoon married Nancy Smith. They settled on No.3, 4th range in 1800. children Dudley, Roxana and Hannah. Simeon Magoon married Martha Briggs. They were among the settlers of Magoon Point. Children, Simeon, Roxana and Sophronia John Magoon married Electa Beebe. Children, Ezra, Stewart, Orrin, Plummer, Rhoda and Jesse. David Magoon married Hannah Elliott. Children John, Dennis, Chester and George. Morrill Magoon married Lois daughter of Philip Verback. They settled in Stanstead about 1806 Children Joseph F. b May 2, 1807 married Eleanora Henderson Sally b. Apr. 5, 1809 married Osmyn Smith William V. b Aug. 24, 1813 married Sarah A. Crocker Dorothy Feb. 18, 1816 married Simeon Fletcher Martha b Feb. 16, 1818 marrried Osmyn Smith his second wife. She d. April 25, 1862 Louisa b. Aug. 18, 1822 married Bartlett Bryant I don't have a Gilbert Magoon in my cemetery records but I am going to look further, any other names you can send me will be a great help! I will keep looking!
