Both my parents were named ELLIOTT when they met. On my father's side, I've traced back as far as a David Marshall Elliott (my ggg grandfather), born in 1824 in Fredricksburg, Maryland, married Mary Emily Updike in 1856, and by the 1880 census was in Bloom, Ohio. I have so far been unable to find the parents of David Marshall Elliott in my research. I'm hoping someone here has some information for me or a direction to go in. Our family oral history says the line came directly from either Scotland or Ireland, in the 1600s or 1700s, depending on which relative I ask. There was a family Bible, but it wound up with one of my dad's cousins, who I haven't been able to track down. On my mother's side, her father was adopted (although not legally) by a William Eegene Elliott b 1898 in either MI or CA, m Grace (maiden name unknown), date of marriage unknown. I haven't been able to find anything on either one. They were my great grandparents. Any and all help and direction is appreciated!
