Going over the ancient papers of Liddesdale-Tynes Valley-Redhough in 1400's and 1500's, there is also another spelling "Ellot". When the Border clansmen were moved over to Ulster 1606 by King James, the spelling changed to Elliot or Elliott including their first names. Instead of being Dande of the Cow, he became Daniel; instead of Martyn the Rychas he was known as Martin Elliott.
