You can find some information here: http://www.archive.org/details/genealogyoflambr00lamb The family is listed beginning on book page 58. Jacob's section begins on page 55 (not PDF pages, actual book pages). You can download the whole book as a PDF file. Hope Matlack, daughter of Jacob MATLACK and Sebilla ELLIS. Hope was born 7 July 1796, married Peter WHITEMAN of Philadelphia. Jacob MATLACK and Sebilla ELLIS married 28 Dec 1782, Old Swedes Church, Philadelphia. (See Pennsylvania Archives, Vol. VIII, pp. 361 and 444.) I know Hope Matlack and Peter WHITEMAN had sons named Wendell, Jacob?, Peter, George. They were all shoemakers. Daughters were Susannah and Elmira on 1850 census. Wendell was with his own family at that time, and he's probably the oldest son. In the 1840 Census, Peter Whiteman has six daughters between 10-19 years of age. Only two are accounted for in 1850 with the family. In 1870, Jacob Whiteman is living with brother? Wendell's family. I believe Jacob is Wendell's brother. Hope died 14 Mar 1865. Husband Peter died 09 May 1879. Many family members were buried in the United American Mechanics Cemetery in Philadelphia, and were later removed to Philadelphia Memorial Park (cemetery), Frazer, Chester County, Pennsylvania when the old cemetery was razed in 1951 to make way for a public housing project which has also been demolished. George Washington Matlack (son of Jacob and Sebilla ELLIS had a daughter named Sebilla Ellis MATLACK (B. 1834) who married Charles SEVERS. Mary Elizabeth MATLACK (b. 1839), daughter of George Washington MATLACK (son of Jacob and Sebilla) and Mary Ann SPENCER had a daughter named Sibilla KEMBLE. Jacob and Sebilla had about ten children, not all of their children's families are listed. There's a good chance a few off the offspring's children named their daughters Sebilla. I can't find a Catherine connected to Hope, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. There are several females unaccounted for. I'll keep looking.
