While in NY, John m. Mahala ABRAHMS, Hannah m. Henry HOLMES, Allen m. Georgiana HALL, & Mary m. Leen CHAFFIN. Beginning abt 1872, they emmigrated to Harlan County, Nebraska; each taking a homestead. Most lived and died in the area of Ragan, Harlan County, NE and are buried in Freewater Cemetery. John & Mahala spent parts of 1885-90 in Bird City, Kansas where they applied for another homestead and also built a hotel.
