I have read with interest this thread on James ELLIOTT. I didn't think your James ELLIOTT (b 1799) was connected to our James ELLIOTT (b 1790) BUT the other names you mention are too similar. Our James ELIOTT came from Ireland in 1815, but didn'r settle in the Clarenceville area until 1821. So where was he and his family for that 6 year period? I reading your postings, I believe that our James ELLIOTT and his 2 brothers come to Clarenceville via a maritime /gaspe route.
