Seeking information on ELIZABETH ELLIOTT, born c. 1827 in England. She married JOHN READ. They both emigrated to America before 1852 and settled in Cincinnati, OH. I know of three children; JOHN EDWARD READ b. 1852 in Cincninati, MARY READ b. Wisconsin, EMMA READ b. Indiana. Elizabeth's sister, EMMA ELLIOTT married STEPHEN STALEY. They settled in Omro, Winnebago Co., WI sometime before 1857 when their oldest daughter was born. They had seven children; MARY b. 1857, VICTOR, JOHN, THEODORE, STEPHEN H., MILO V., and JULIA. John Edward Read b. 1852 married 2nd MARY STALEY b. 1857. They both died in Oshkosh, WI in 1942. In the 1880 Federal census for Omro, Winnebago Co., WI -- living next door to Stephen and Emma Staley were WILLIAM ELLIOTT, his wife HELLEN, and three children; MARY N., JENNIE, and ALBERT E.
