Hi all, After reading Sunny's posting I HAD to send in my line. There were a lot of similarities between names, locations and dates and I am hoping maybe someone can do some comparisons and help me chip away at my proverbial "brick wall" My GG Grandfather was Laton Franklin Elliott. He was born either in North Carolina (county unknown) or possibly South Carolina in 1818. (Census records state both states at different times). At some point he moved to Tippah County, MS where he married Rebecca Harden Steel (from Tennessee) in 1847. They had 2 children there, Lucinda Elizabeth in 1848 and Anne in 1850. They then removed apparently to Polk County, Missouri where they were found in the 1860 census. Their other children were: Ninian Lawson B. 1853 Mary Jane B. 1856 William Henry B. 1859 Martha Susanna B. 1862 Laton "Frank" B. 1865 Mondory Isabelle B. 1868 George Washington B. 1873 Laton died in 1888. I have seen the postings with the name Archibald Elliott in the past and it has always caught my attention. One of the sons of my G. Grandfather Laton "Frank" Elliott was named Archibald..it could be coincidence, but I would imagine that Frank would have known the name of his uncles, etc. (and I am so envious of that!)...so could it be that Archibald Elliott of South Carolina and Laton Elliott of N. or S. Carolina were possibly brothers? Cousins? Nothing at all to each other??? Also, I might mention that the child of Laton's first daughter Lucinda (who was born out of wedlock) was named Charles Cebron Elliott..and unusual middle name. As Sunny said in her request..we MUST be connected to SOMEONE out there reading this..we just haven't found that crucial link. If anyone has ANYTHING that might help I will forever be in your debt..I might even mow your lawn, do your dishes, paint your kitchen..anything! :o) Thank you for humoring me...
