    3. When I first began my research, the Clan Genealogist was VERY, VERY helpful for me. They were able to provide me with a lot of information on ancestors; they even had information on two children, born to my maternal grandparents who died at about one year (or so) of age. None of my aunts/uncles, etc., had ever spoken of the two infants. So I'm one who benefited greatly from the Elliott Clan Society. -----Original Message----- From: Butch8073@aol.com [mailto:Butch8073@aol.com] Sent: Tuesday, June 05, 2001 9:23 PM To: ELLIOTT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: Fw: [ELLIOTT] Fw: Reunion & Sketch of the Elliot Family documents Jim Elliott does make a halfway valid point in that most of our Elliot ancestors were not nobility. Most were peasants, but they all had one thing in common, the Elliot name and the fact that most DID come from Scotland at one point or other. As far as the Clan Elliot Database, there is a possibility that you will get no help from it, but there is a greater chance that you might. You DEFINITELY will not get any help from it if you say , OH WELL, the Clan Society is there for ALL persons of Elliot lineage, not just the nobility. This is not a personal attack in any way , but Jim, please do not run the Clan Society down if you havent tried it. ==== ELLIOTT Mailing List ==== Visit the ELLIOT/ELLIOTT Most Wanted Web Site: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~yvonne/elliott.html
