    3. I also am puzzled as to where my Elliotts originated from. I was told that my g-grandfather William Elliott was from Canada, but do not know what part, born around 1860, he settled in the New England states, (Vermont>Mass>Maine) here in the US. His parents also were from Canada. Before Canada, were the ancestors from Scotland, Ireland, or England? This I do not know. I am almost sure they were presbyterian though. And I thought they might be from the clan that fought along side of the Armstrongs on the borders (Scotland/England). An Elliott(my grandmother) did marry an Armstrong (my grandfather). But I do not think they knew of this history. They met in Mass. but I do not know how they met.
