I am searching for parents of William Elliott who married Linda ( many say Middleton, but I have seen no proof) and lived in Rutherford County, NC. It appears my William Elliott was born between 1750-1760 somewhere in VA. Many say his parents were Archibald and Sarah Clark Elliott, who were in Fishing Creek SC/NC, however land and church records in Fishing Creek show Archibald and Sarah's son, William Elliott, stayed in Fishing Creek. He was attending church in Fishing Creek at the same time the William Elliott I descend from was in Rutherford County, NC.
