Hello everyone, I'm researching the family of the man who built my Lynchburg, Virginia house in 1816, Peter Elliott. It looks like his family came to Gloucester County, Virginia in the mid 1600s from adjoining counties in England and Wales. (Possible family members then were Anthony, Thomas, William, and Robert Elliott). The father of my guy (Peter) was named Robert Elliott, and was probably born between 1750-1754. He served in the Revolution, along with his brothers James and Thomas. Peter moved to Richmond, Virginia, then Lynchburg, Virginia by 1815 or so. He moved his family (surviving children were Joseph, William, and Ann) to Lexington, Kentucky in the 1820s. He then moved to Evansville, Indiana and died in 1863.His son Joseph was a businessman in Evansville, and wrote a book on Evansville history in the 1890s. William was a minister and doctor in Evansville. Ann married a Duval in Lexington, Kentucky. I'm hoping that I can find any living descendents of this family maybe still in Kentucky or Indiana (or even Virginia). Has anyone run into this line in their research at all?
